This year our family decided to go as monsters inc. I made Kyson's, Kinleys, and my costume. Larry was out of town for the second year in a row. The kids loved their costumes me on the other hand felt a little embarrassed so I don't think I will dress up again.

Yes can you believe it I now have all 3 kids in school!! It is sad yet exciting to be past the infant stage. What will I do with myself. Makinley is very excited to be back in school summers are long for her, and she is always so ready for school to start. She is in third grade and loves it.

Kyson went into first grade this year so far he hasn't complained about going but I am sure that day is coming.. He says he already has two girl friends. hee hee

Easton was ready to go to school and is loving it so far , but it has only been two days. He is our kindergardener and is my baby boy it is sad my kids are growing up, good thing I am going to stay young.

End of summer trip.

I needed to get a few last things before school started so I made a quick trip out to Grand Junction. My sister in-law came with me and we stayed the night. Kyson decided to stay with his grandma Moon. Makinley and Easton had so much fun.

At the beginning of summer I had my kids write a list of things they wanted to do while out of school. We now only have 1 week left of summer break and we have not accomplished anything. makinley said the only thing we did this summer is go to doctor appointments and she is right. Makinley was diagnosed with Hashimotos (it is where your body builds up antibodies to kill off your thyroid)in April so she has been to Salt Lake for appointments and has had to have her blood taken several times. She also has a bad stomach and had a scope at primary childrens and spends alot of time in pain or at the doctor, we still don't know the cause. She has been taking 5 pills a day not good for an 8 year old. We blame it on the Moon genes. We took Kyson out of his research study but had his blood taken for another study which was fine because we also had him tested for Hashimotos since Makinley is so young with it they wanted all of us to be tested.He deos not have it thank goodness. We also started him on meds for add hoping they would help him concentrate so he can learn to read but we have gone through lots of kinds of meds and no such luck. Easton has also had his blood tested and he is fine but then he breaks his arm. So Makinley was right we have seen the doctors office alot this summer, hopefully with school starting things will calm down. Makinley is good now for 6 months then they will recheck to made sure her blood levels are still good, if not they will just up her medication so now she just needs to gain back all her muscle tone. Here are the things we did get to do this summer. I had one goal for the summer and I accomplished it, it was to get Kyson riding his bike without training wheels. Easton has been riding for over a year but Kyson had a hard time learning to balance but he finally did it!!!!
Our new babies. Larry decided to get back into oriental pheasents(shows how old he is)and he hatched out a few birds in the incubator. My kids loved it.

It a trip to thanksgiving point. We had to pick Larry up at the airport after he went to Texas for training, it was a good chance to let the kids do something fun.

Every year we hike a canyon with Larry's side of the family for Easter. My kids are to the age they don't want to walk with us any more so there is not many pictures. This year was a little crazy because of all the water. The young boys carried all the kids and some of the women across a pond of deep water, it was really neat it reminded me of reading about the hand cart company where the young men carried people across the icy river. The boys were so cold but they kept going back and forth until everyone was across. By the time they were done their legs were bright red and hurting. Talk about selflessness.

Yes this year we caught the leprechaun. Last year we only got the shoe, but this year the boys made a good trap and we caught him. He had a little card in his hat and it said he will only stay for a little while and when the kids aren't watching he will go back to his family. They are keeping a close eye on him they don't want him to go.

Vegas baby!!

My kids love Las Vegas. Two years ago on our way home from California we got stopped in a traffic jam for 4 hours on the freeway right outside of Vegas, so because it was so late we decided to stay there. We stayed at Circus Circus and because it was midnight we were able to go play games and win everyone so of course our kids thought it was so fun. We stayed in Vegas one night on the way out and 2 nights on the way back. We did discover an amazing hotel on the trip back and will stay there from now on. They had an amazing pool and a full basketball court. Speaking of that Larry took the kids out to shoot hoops while I napped, about 15 min. later they were back and Larry was telling me to go get ice. Easton had got hit in the head with the bar you turn to make the the basket go up and down. It didn't break the skin but it was a huge lump then 2 black eyes followed. We had so much fun just hanging out and enjoying the good weather.

Disneyland

Our trip to disneyland!! So much fun I wish we were still there. The weather was amazing the whole time and the lines at disneyland were really short. My kids are already wanting to go back. Larrys parents went with us and we were able to see Melissa's new baby and hang out with larrys sister and another niece that lives in Gorgia. We love spending time with family that we don't get to see very often.

Makinley and Kyson were tall enough to ride everything and they did. They were so brave and loved all the scary rides. Easton on the other hand is our scared child he did not want to ride anything we had to force him on the first ride I think people thought we were abusing him because he was screaming so loud, but I knew he would like it after he did it and he did.

The good and the bad

So in december we started a blind study for Kyson in Salt Lake. We give him an enzyme three times a day then every 2 weeks we take him out to the doctor and they check for progress. So the bad news is there had been no progress. Yesterday was his 12 week check up and we found out he was on the placebo so now we get to give him the real stuff for the next 18 months, the doctor said they are seeing good results so we are very hopeful he will make some good progress. The enzyme is for digesting protein and sending it to the brain. The clinic we are with has a 100% rate of every autistic child they have tested has not had this enzyme. I guess it is only 80% nation wide, but this research sounds very hopeful.

This will be amazing if it will just give these kids a better future. We are not looking to cure Kyson he is an amazing little boy and I wouldn't change that, but he has big dreams just like my other kids and I want him to be able to reach those goals.

Kyson has a tutor that comes twice a week and helps him with his fine motor, well she also sings in the high school girls choir. For valentines they sell singing valentines and then on valentines day they go around singing to people and giving them a bouquet of Hershey kiss flowers. Stacey got Kyson one and they went to school and sang to him in his class. He loved it!!

This year for valentines day I had to go help in Makinley's class for their party. Well I guess right after I left Larry showed up in Makinleys class with flowers for both of us. He ended up bringing mine to the house but I had gone to see my grandpa so he left them on the table. I was so surprised when I got home and saw them.

My Kyson is the sweetest little guy!!! For Valentines we gave each of our kids teachers a little bag of candy and a pair of socks. Kyson has his teacher and then his special education teacher, well their is also 3 aids that help in Kysons special ed class that don't help with him. He was insisting we get the aids something as well. Well after leaving his school I just blew it off and we never did get them anything. I guess after their valentines party Kyson got three valentines out of his bag and took them down to the helpers in the special ed class. He is so thoughtful of other people. We love him so much!!

Cruise

This is my favorite vacation. I love the sun shine I always tell Lar I got in the wrong body I am really supposed to be an island girl!! I could sit out in the sun all day. This time of year gets really depressing for me, I wish I could hibernate.
This cruise we went to 3 islands Belieze, Grand Caymen,and Cozumel. We went to the turtle farm, got to swim with sting rays, hike the ruins, and see how they live on the poor islands it was really an eye opener. Our taxi driver took us through his neighbor hood and told us how him and his wife help feed the neighborhood children, we are truely blessed to live in this country and have the blessings that we have.

This year for Kyson's birthday we did on big party with family and friends. Every year he wants a thomas party and since I didn't let him last year I thought I would let him again this year. I decided to do the cake myself because he wanted one that had a moving train on it. It didn't turn out the best, but he loved it.

Makinley was baptised on October 9th by her dad it was a very exciting day for her. We did a girls trip before to pick out the dress, then had my good friend help do pictures at the temple. She looked so beautiful!!!

Were back

So first our desktop crashed after I got a virus from facebook, then about 2 weeks after that our laptop crashed and we lost every thing including about 400 pictures. So I was without a computer for about 2 months. I am going to go back to October and start blogging from there for the book I am going to put together, then hopefully I will stay caught up. Also if you want to send me your blog address I lost all the ones I had and I love seeing what you are up to.

October our very very busy month we had our anniversary on the 2nd then Kinleys birthday on the 8th, she was baptised on the 9th then Kysons birthday on the 11th then Larrys on the 21st, and my sisters on the 28th. This year we also scheduled a cruise for the end of October so we missed out on our kids halloween, they weren't to sad they would rather have Melissa thier cousin/babysitter take them any day over us.
On the kids birthday we let them pick where they want to eat with just me and Lar, its a good time for Makinley to get away from brothers, but last year she chose to have crab legs at home and this year she chose artichokes so of course we had those at home. Very good choices if you ask me!!

Lar likes to spoil his little princess so he sent her flowers to school. Whats up I NEVER get flowers.

Makinleys Birthday: We did a sleepover party it was crazy but that is what she wanted and I felt bad because we would be gone for halloween.

There are 10 kids in our neighborhood that were off to kindergarten so a lady in the ward set up a before school lunch. After lunch we then all waited together for the bus. It was super cute to see all the kids interact with each other.

My little Kyson is off to kindergarten.. I can't believe how fast kids seem to grow up. I was super nervous for him to go and didn't sleep at all the night before, but he was fine. He has always loved to go to school I know he will do great.

Makinley always wants to grow her hair out, but she has my fine thin hair that doesn't really grow. Over the summer I pretend to let her grow it out, but when it's time for school I make her get a cut. I think it looks super cute short.

My boys have gotten so fun. They get along so good together, They are always together and Easton takes care of Kyson. He helps him get dressed, put his shoes on, buckle into the car,wash in the tub,and pretty much any thing Kyson needs. They are also almost the same size people are always asking if they are twins. I guess Easton will be tall. I hope they can stay best friends through out their whole lives.

A little bit ago we had some trauma at our house and ended up loosing 2 pets in 1 day. Makinley was heart broken so her cousin gave her a little orange kitty she named cheeto. I am pretty sure it has the devil in him. HE loves to hide under stuff then attack you when you least expect it. I am scared to death of it. It also nurses on Kinleys ear when it gets tired I think they took it away from its mom to soon. Its gross but Makinley loves it.

We have some fun tradition's for Halloween, here they are. Carving pumpkins with the family and dinner to go along with it. This year we also celebrated Katies Birthday.(that's what the black mouths are about).
Witches brew after it ws done bubbling the younger kids decided to get spoons and drink it that way. Needless to say we didn't drink it, I can only imagine all the floaties. GROSS

FIELD TRIP

I was lucky enough to go with Easton and Kendyl on their pre-school field trip to the corn maze. We took a Wilkins bus (the hour) over to the corn maze. There they got to go on a hay ride over to pick out a pumpkin, then find their way through the maze, play on all the toys, feed the goats, then have lunch. It was a FUN day but very tiring.

Kyson wanted a toy story cake this year. So I decided to make it myself I think it turned out really good , I even used fondant. I had fun making it and will probably make my kids cakes every year.

We wanted to make Kinleys 7th birthday very special so we made the whole day for her. We started with breakfast in bed her favorite.

First Days

So all my kids had their first day of school. I am so excited to have them all in school, but also a little sad. I can't believe how fast they have grown up
Makinley is in the first grade so she is gone all day. I miss her a ton while she is gone. She loves school and loves to learn.

Kyson goes to school 4 days a week they are only half days because he is still in preschool. He does get to ride the bus this year and he loves it. We are hoping for a big year for him so he will be ready for Kindergarten.

Easton goes 2 days a week (they are also half days). He loves it so far, hopefully he will not get into trouble, he seems to be our wild child.

Call me lazy but camping seems like way to much work when you have 3 little kids. Our kids wanted to go camping , so we did. Just pretend you don't see our house or fence. We had family over to roast marshmallows and hot dogs, then we slept out in our tent. (well at least half the night) any way we had ALOT of fun with half the work and really no extra money. Our kids didn't notice a difference. ] You have to watch the video of Kyson he entertained us all night with his singing.The song is called fire song SUPER CUTE!!! make sure you turn off my music at the bottom.

Our trip to Salt Lake for Kysons soccer game

We decided to make a full trip when we went out to Kysons soccer game and for him to play on the real feild at half time. We started by going to the zoo.

Then it was off to Kyson's socer game against a Salt Lake team. Its fun to see the kids get so excited.

Later we went to the Real game where Kyson got to play at half time on the field. It was awsome being at the stadium. (of course I left my camera behind so I don't have any pics of that)
After that we went back to the hotel and swam until after midnight . This was the kids favorite part!!

I DID IT !!!!......5K

I have never really been interested in running a 5K or half marathon, but when my sister and I heard of a 5K here in Vernal we decided to do it. I run 3 miles every morning on the treadmill so I new I could do it. I was still very nervous but it turned out to be awesome and very accomplishing. I ran it in 28min and 02 seconds. My fastest time on the treadmill is 29min. so it felt good to beat that time. My sister and I are thinking about doing a 5K in Salt Lake on May 16th. I really want to but we will see.

Our rainy Saturday

Saturday was very rainy but we didn't want to just sit at home so we decided to go for a drive up to green river have lunch and go fishing. It turned out to be a wonderful day and the weather was just perfect.

Larry and the kids caught a few fish. The kids loved it.

After lunch and fishing we hiked down by Josies cabin. It is a beautiful time of year everything was very green.

This year Kyson was old enough to play on the VIP soccer team. He doesn't really like the outdoors, but hopefully this will help him. He's doing pretty good for just starting. His team will get to play on the REAL field at half time on May 16 if you are interested in going and can't get tickets let me know and I will see if they have any left out here.

A few weeks ago Larry and Kyson went to the home and garden show. A while after they got home someone called and told him he had won this bike worth over $400.00. Yes its kinda funny looking but hey it was free. It has a engine on it so when you get tired of pedaling you can start the engine and it does the rest (kinda like a motorcycle)

The other day while I was baby sitting my sisters kids. Kendyl and Easton found a dryer sheet and figured out if they put it over the heat vent it would blow into the air. They did this for almost an hour . They laughed hysterically the whole time. Oh to be young again!!

This year for Easter Larrys family did it a week early and the weather was terrible, but we still had so much fun hanging out at the Piphers with family. Thanks Piphers for letting us hang out all weekend and make a mess at your house. We love you guys!!

Makinley wanted to go down the canyon so Larry finally gave in and took her this is the only picture he got because the battery on my camera died.

My family got together for lunch and had a egg hunt. Lots of fun, but again the weather was terrible. I thought because Easter was April this year the weather would be great. I guess I was wrong.

The scariest thing I have ever gone through!!

I have to write about this to remind you all to spend a little extra time with your kids and to tell them you love them often. Tonight the plan was all the owners of the truck stop would meet to pick up trash all around the outer edges of our property. So of course we took our kids. When we got there they were using a backhoe to throw the trash in the bucket. Larry when we got there said you keep the kids by you and I will pick up trash. So we got started and did all the trash on the first side of the building. Larry, the kids , Dave Pipher, and I started walking across the parking lot to the other side when the owner of the backhoe came flying up behind us. I froze in fear, but was like get the kids. Larry and Dave grabbed Easton then Kyson as the bucket was over his head and he was about 1 inch away from the tire. The driver noticed me out to the side and slammed on the brake and skidded to a stop. He hadn't even seen us because he had the bucket of trash right in his line of vision. I can't even tell you the feeling. Our hearts were about to pound out of our chests, and our bodies would not stop shaking. I had to go sit inside because I was sick and my legs wouldn't even hold me up. I still am very traumatized. We are very lucky to have the lord watching over us!!!!

Makinley finally lost her first tooth!!

Yesterday Makinley had an app. with the dentist to get her 2 bottom front teeth pulled.(her new teeth had come in behind the baby teeth so we thought they needed to be pulled). She was very excited. Well the dentist called before and said he was sick and we would have to reschedule, Makinley was very sad. So this morning Larry was checking to see if the teeth were any looser when he decided to pull the one because it was ready. She was very excited (not to mention I was to because now the dentist bill will be a little cheaper).So exciting, hopefully the tooth fairy will come tonight.

Enjoying the spring like weather!!

I love being outdoors so this little bit of sun has been very welcome, the other day I decided to take the boys on a wagon ride while Kinley was at school. We walked down to the creek and watched the water, then headed home. when we got home the boys got so excited when they saw our cat Nala sitting in the garage window. I guess I could have just walked around the driveway and it would have been just as exciting. Its funny the things that get kids excited.

A much needed update!!

So I actually have a few minuets to myself so I thought I would update my blog. It seems that with working at the truck stop, babysitting, running kids to activities, and just being a mom lately I haven't been able to budget my time to get anything done. We are still alive though. So the big things I thought I would update on are
1st Kysons diet. He is finally off the diet after about 13 long weeks. I am sad to say not much improvement, but definatley worth the try. He is still progressing but it is very very slow. We also signed him up to play VIP soccer, that will be very interesting but I hope he will try it and like it. In April his team gets to go play during half time at a Real Salt Lake game. Let me know if you are interested in going and watching we would love you to come. 2nd Easton is pretty much completely potty trained day and night. YIPEE , also I signed him up for preschool next fall and he is very excited!!3rd Makinley has started reading little books and can sound out lots of words I can't believe I have a child that old. CRAZY Anyway here are some pictures of other things we have been up to.

Ever since I made Larry breakfast in bed for his birthday Makinley has wanted us to do that for her so on Valentines day Larry decided he would make her breakfast in bed. She loved it.

Ever since Easton got his new fishing pole he has wanted to go fishing so finally the other day Larry took him fishing. The group only caught 1 fish, but Easton is still talking about the trip.

Funny kid So the other day Easton wanted some pudding. I finally gave in but told him to be careful and not to spill on his shirt so a while later he came and found me and his shirt was on inside out I asked him why and he said because he had spilled pudding on it but he had cleaned it by turning it inside out. In this picture I had just made brownies and he wanted to lick the bowl I told him no because he would get it on his shirt and we were getting ready to go to some friends house for dinner, well I left to go get ready and when I came back this is what I saw. He told me this was so he didn't get it on his shirt, I couldn't help but laugh

The last time we had Jamies kids her girls both fought over who got to style the boys' hair. Well Kendyl must be going to take after her mom because today while babysitting her it got really quiet so I figured her and Easton must be up to something. I went into Kinleys bathroom and Kendyl was doing Eastons hair it was super cute so I had to share the pictures.

I can't belive it Easton just turned three on the 17th . For his Birthday he wanted a fishing pole so Lar took him to lunch then to pick out a pole, he was soooo happy.

For his birthday we had family and friend over to roast marshmellow and have hot chocolate and cider.

When I would ask Easton what he wanted for his birthday he would tell me a cake so instead of making one I let him pick one out at the store. They didn't have the scooby doo one he wanted so he settled for Go Diego.

More sledding fun

While watching Jamies kids the other weekend the girls wanted to go sledding so we went and found a hill that was a little bigger than last time. Besides Jades injuries the kids had a great time.

So here are the injuries happening.

Kyson favorite was going down on this mat. He did the best because he would just sit there instead of trying to correct himself if he was getting off course

I have always told Larry he has 2 boys to take hunting and fishing, but I want Kinley to be my girly girl, well Kinley seems to be the one who always wants to go shooting , and never wants to do what I want to do. Hopefully someday soon that will change.

Our favorite family tradition!

Every new years day we get together as a family and have lunch then go out back in my parents field and go sledding. My dad makes a fire and we roast marshmellow (this year we didn't get to because of Kysons diet)then he puts a heater in their shed so we can go in to get warm. After we are done sledding we go inside for hot chocolate and dessert. Here are the pictures of all the fun.

Even though this tube is at least twice the size of Kendyl she always managed to get it to the top of the hill.

The funniest thing ever!! SO earlier in the day Katie was telling me not to ride the snow mobile with Jamie because she was crazy. Later when we went out Jamie begged me to ride with her and I kept saying no, well then Larry said just go, so I finally gave in , at the same time Katie came running saying I will go. I was so glad and after this happened I was even more gald. So I got this picture of them when they were getting ready to take off, and the next picture tells the funy story. So Jamie hit the gas while they were on a small hill and the turbo kicked in throwing them off the back. The snow mobile kept going down the field. That is Chance chasing it. So by the time I got my camera back out they had already gotten up and were walking back. LOL They are both very sore. Sorry Jamie and Katie I am laughing the whole time I am typing this.
